Nancy Hetty Simons (1902 - 1906)
Ever since I was a little girl, I've walked past this child's grave, and wondered whether or not she was related to me... Well, now I finally know!
Nancy Hetty Simons was born in Bicester in 1902 - the daughter of James Simons and his wife Annie (née Fennimore). She sadly passed away in December 1906, aged just 4 years.
James and Annie married in Bicester in 1892; according to their marriage record, James was 'of Launton', and his father was Charles Simons.
Using this information, I was able to confirm that James was the son of my 3 x great grandparents, Charles and Harriet Simons (née King). If my calculations are correct, then that would've made little Nancy my 1st cousin 3 x removed (?).
There were (and still are) various Simons families living in/around Bicester, and thanks to my research, I've been able to confirm that virtually all of them were descended from John & Alice Simons, who would've been born circa 1700, probably in Launton.
